Next X-Men film will be set in the 1990’s

My guess was correct, and likely yours was too. The next X-Men movie will be set in the 90’s folks. Well according to Simon Kinberg anyway, but I tend to trust his judgement. At a recent film junket talked to Kinberg and he told them “The next one is set in the ’90s,” This isn’t too much of a shock to any X-Men fan paying attention. Since the franchise’s triumphant return in X-Men: First Class, each movie has been set a decade in the future.

The only thing worth questioning is what film he’s referring to. At first glance this seems obvious, but you gotta remember all the other things Fox has got coming up. For all we know, he could be referring to the New Mutants movie that’s currently in development. Whether he’s talking about the next big X-Men movie or New Mutants, the future is looking pretty awesome right about now.

X-Men: Apocalypse comes to theaters May 27th, 2016 and the New Mutants movie is currently in development.
