The DCEU has had a bit of a rough start. With Man of Steel‘s mixed reviews and the general disappointment we all felt after Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, the future of the DC Extended has been a bit uncertain. Although many of us have high hopes for Suicide Squad, it seems Warner Bros has decided perhaps that they need a clear cut leader. Well that leader, or should I say leaders, has finally been chosen.
Geoff johns and Jon Berg have been chosen to co-run the DCEU in the hopes that the pair can get this universe on the right track. Johns is known best for help creating the famous DCTV Universe involving the shows The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. Johns is also the writer behind the DC Comics Rebirth (which is DC rebooting its titles over the course of this coming Summer). As for Berg, Jon was already involved in DCEU films such as Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League before this decision was made.
With the leadership of Johns and Berg, Warner Bros hopes that with a seasoned film veteran and comic book writer the DCEU can be steered into the right direction. But what do you think? Were these guys the right choices? Or did you have someone else in mind? Take about it in the comments and don’t forget to like, share, and follow Sprom for more news on the DCEU and other things in the world of movie news.
Suicide Squad comes to theaters August 5th, 2016.
