New Star Trek Beyond Posters

On December 18th of last year, space became a thing again. The biggest space franchise in all of human history  returned from the ashes and now we give a crap about space adventure movies. Why, you may ask, am I talking about Star Wars when the title clearly says Star Trek? Well for one I like to mess with all the Trekkies, but also I felt I needed to mention Star Trek’s competition. and while this movie’s second trailer is quite the step up, these new posters aren’t helping prove if Star Trek is the superior space franchise.

Three members of Beyond’s main cast have been highlighted in the movie’s most recent set of posters, which can be seen above. Scotty (Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho), and Uhura (Zoe Saldana) are finally getting their time in the limelight. Sadly their posters are not worthy of their characters.

There are few factors that go into deciding if a poster is good or not. One big factor is if it’s cool looking enough to hang on my wall. These posters sadly do not make the cut. But if it’s any consolation, character posters are often not too cool. And this got us talking about that other space movie, so good job I guess.

But what do you think? Am I too judgemental or are these just boring? Talk about it in the comments and don’t forget to like, share, and follow Sprom for more news on Star Trek Beyond and other things in the world of movie news.

Star Trek Beyond comes to theaters July 22nd of this year.
