Although the DCEU hasn’t been the most successful of the superhero cinematic universes, me and seemingly many others aren’t giving up hope. David Ayer’s Suicide Squad (set to hit theaters August 5th) has been one of the most anticipated movies of the Summer, despite the faults of the previous DCEU films. And understandably so considering the amazing cast and enthralling premise. A group of villains fighting even badder villains to save the city?! Brilliant! And if that’s not enough to entice you, then this will surely send you to the theater come opening night.
The DCEU’s version of the Flash will be making an appearance in Suicide Squad. This Flash made his debut in the critically panned DCEU movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Luckily of all the things that was wrong with BvS the Flash was not one of them. It has been reported that Ezra Miller’s portrayal of the Flash was added in during those reshoots you all were so worried about (allegedly). So maybe they really were adding humor? So get excited, but not too excited guys. Considering the circumstances this is probably little more than his cameo in BvS. But don’t worry because Justice League comes out in less than two years!
So it’ll be interesting seeing the Flash in SS, considering the different tones you get from the characters of Suicide Squad and the tone the Flash tends to have. Both movies will be comedic but the Suicide Squad members have such a dark undertone, which is understandable considering they are villains. The Flash always has a kind of light, witty sense of humor. So it’ll be interesting to see in what capacity the Flash is involved with the SS gang.
So what do you think Ezra Miller is doing in this movie? Do you think Suicide Squad will be the hit that the DCEU has been waiting for? Which soon to be Justice League member are you happier to see in Suicide Squad: Batsy or the Flash?
