What’s Out? December 9th Edition

After many weeks of not writing I return! You see, I was rebelling against NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) by not writing things. But now it is December, Christmas will soon be upon us and movies are coming out! So I’m back to help you know what’s out this holiday season.

Office Christmas Party – Josh Gordan, Will Speck

The only real thing out this weekend is the star studded comedy Office Christmas Party. A perfect offset for those not into the Oscar bait seen throughout the last few weeks, Office Christmas Party is the story of a bank manager (played by the lovely TJ Miller) who throws a giant office Christmas party to bag a client and save his branch from getting shut down by his CEO. And of course hijinks ensue. Now this will likely not be the next Hangover or Trainwreck, but this seems to have all the makings of a fun Christmas comedy. And with a cast including Kate McKinnon, Jennifer Aniston, and Courtney B. Vance, this seems like a good choice if you want to see something with some pals on an empty Saturday.

La La Land – Damien Chazelle

And for those lucky bastard living in places like LA or NYC , you can see La La Land before everyone else (Including me 😦 ) Starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, La La Land is the musical telling of a Jazz pianist falling in love with an aspiring actress in Los Angeles. If you’re a fan of musicals, classic Hollywood, or just film in general, I suggest you check this out. While I haven’t seen it, but the things I’ve heard make this movie out to be nothing short of extraordinary and Oscar worthy. Finally something that’s meant to be in the Musical or Comedy category at the Golden Globes (a little The Martian humor). So if you can see this, please do. I have a strong feeling that you’ll love it.

So what are you gonna see this weekend? Is La La Land in your area? Are you just gonna see Fantastic Beasts for the third time instead? Talk about it in the comments and don’t forget to like, share, and follow Sprom for more news on what’s out and everything else in the movie news world.
